Yes, the news is true that a strong earthquake ripped through the China's Gansu province in the area at the junction of the Minxian County and Zhangxian County whose magnitude on the Richter scale measuring 6.6 on 22nd July 2013.

Initial reports said the 6.6-magnitude quake, which struck at 7.45 am on 22.07.13, at the juncture of Minxian county and Zhangxian County in the city of Dingxi in China had caused the collapse of over 1,200 homes and severe damage to 21,000 homes. 54 people were killed and have also left over 300 injured as per latest data.
