Yes, a young woman accused of killing a boy with black magic was burnt alive in Papua New Guinea. According to Lawrence Foana'ota who is the director of the Solomon Islands National Museum said that the reason for this practice is because there is some kind of economic benefits people are receiving from these. It is not just the society it is about the people and there beliefs.
