    There are twelve basic principles of animation which are the set of rules for animations and was started by Disney animators Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas. They are:

    >> Squash and stretch which is used to give a sense of weight and flexibility to the object.
    >> Anticipation is used to give the feel of reality/
    >> Staging provides the idea of an action, a personality, an expression or a mood.
    >> Straight ahead action and pose to pose
    >> Follow through and overlapping action
    >> Slow in and slow out
    >> Arcs
    >> Secondary action
    >> Timing
    >> Exaggeration
    >> Solid drawing
    >> Appeal
