In my opinion, it depends upon the type of the carbohydrates we are consuming in our daily diet. There can be two types of carbohydrates, one can be simple carbohydrates and the other one is complex carbohydrates. Simple carbs includes the foods like honey, alcohol, white bread, white pasta, white rice, fried chips, sugary cereals, etc. On the other hand complex carbs includes vegetables, whole grain breads and pastas, beans, peas, brown rice, etc. Actually the digestion process of both the carbs is same but they differ in their nutrient content. Simple carbohydrates contains more amount of fats and less amount of other nutrients. They get easily digested by our body and if taken in excess amount, they easily converts into fats. In case of complex carbohydrates, they contains more of the vitamins, minerals and fiber and less of the fats. So, if someone wants to reduce body weight and wants to have less fat, then he/she is recommended to have foods with the complex carbohydrates.
