ISO 9001 is mainly used for process documentation. it mainly helps the organisation by defining all process of the organisation and who is responsible and accoundable for each and the perfomance measures for each activity, it stress on process improvement. CMMI shows the maturity of the process that is being followed by the organization. level 0 - the process fails to achieve its objective, 1 - process is adhoc and may not be repeatable, 2- repeatable process ,etc.... CMMI is mostly used for producing systems like s/w or production. ISO focuses on the whole organization and not just the production process.
