16 GB (Gigabyte) of available disk space will do it for you. However i would recommend to you to keep at least 25-30 GB of total disk space for the smooth use of your computer.

Once installed, click "My Computer" and then Right Click on the white area and select "Properties". In the pop-up window, select "System Protection" on the left and disable the Windows Restore points. They are useless and gobble up space.

Files on Windows 7 will occupy atleast 6 to 7 gb of storage..but it is suggested to have a C drive of atleast 20 -25 gb to run smooth and if any update and softwares are installed , you don't have any problem regarding the storage.
