Yes, it is a genetic disease as it is believed that autism is linked to genetics. It tends to run in the families, but scientists are still searching what genes are involved in autism. It can also be possible that there isn't any gene involved, but a combination of genes is possible. The families which don't have any history of autism can also have an autistic child, and it can be possible due to the changes in genes which occur from one generation to another.
