    Yes, In 1960, the supreme court of US indicated that there should be religion teaching in public school education as school-prayer cases that prompted rulings against state sponsored school prayer and devotional bible reading. In Abington v. Schempp, Associate Justice Tom Clark wrote for the Courst : "It might well said that without the study of comparative religion & the history religion, the education is incomplete. It certainly may be said that the Bible is worthy of study for its literary and historic qualities.
