    Klaus Werner Lohannis won Romanian presidential elections in the year 2014 on 16 November. Lohannis got 54.81 percent of the votes compared to only 45.18 percent of the votes for Victor Ponta. The office of President in Romania was created in 1974, when Communist leader Nicolae Ceausescu elevated the presidency of the State Council to a full-fledged executive presidency.
