On March 23, 2014 Turkey shot down the Syrian military jet for violating airspace near the Turkish-Syrian border. On the other hand, Syria had accused Turkey of blatant aggression and said that the plane was over the Syrian territory, when it was shot. Turkey and Syria shares border area of about 800 kilometers and the relation between them has been added since October 2011, over the civil war. The two nations have witnessed cross-border firings. The relations between the two had worsened that they have deployed the missiles on the border.
