Bromine is a chemical substance, which was discovered by "Carl Jacob Löwig" and "Antoine Jerome Balard" between the year 1825–1826. It is highly soluble in organic substances like carbon disulfide, carbon tetrachloride and aliphatic alcohols, and slightly soluble in water. It is a highly reactive element and vigorously reacts with metals in the presence of water. It is considered less reactive than chlorine and more reactive than Iodine.
