    A Matter is a substance that has some mass as well as volume and occupies some space. That object can be either solid or liquid. A matter exists in four states (or phases): solid, liquid and gas, and plasma. For more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matter

    any thing that has mass and occupies space is called a matter . e.g geometerybox etc. much of universal material is composed of matter .there are three states solid liquid and gas. plasma is its fourth state or ionic state. .
