Rooting is to gain root access to your Android operating system same as jaibreaking for Apple devices. It is as useful as harmful for Android devices. The main risks are that you can turn your smartphone into a box, software of your phone can be damaged by you and your phone become no more than a waste box. If you root your Android device than your phone warranty turns void and the manufacturer will not cover the damages of your phone. It may harm the security of your phone and viruses, worms, spyware and Trojans can infect your Android device. You may lose the important data like banking passwords, credit card details and many more because of the low security level.
