Tasmania was the name of the state which was formerly known as the "Van Diemen's Land". It is an Island in 240 Kilometers in the south of the Australian continent. It was founded by Abel Tasman on 24th November, 1642 and named as "Anthony van Diemen's Land" by Anthony van Diemen (governor of the Dutch East Indies).
