    Diamonds sparkles due to the phenomenon of total internal reflection of light. A diamond has such facets that, light first gets refracted in it from all directions. But when light is inside diamond it totally internally gets reflected n-numbered of times. Thus, making brighter image of light wherever it reflects. So, it sparkles.
