It may be possible that your iPhone 5 is locked with your previous network provider. In order to solve this problem all you need to do is just unlock your phone with previous network. For this you can take your phone to the nearest apple service center and they will help you.

It seems like your device is locked and you will have to unlock it first.

It looks like your iPhone 5 has been locked to certain network. To unlock the iPhone 5 from it's network lock use remote unlock method. Using remote unlock method is safe and it will unlock the device permanently. It doesn't even require jailbreak. This remote unlock works on all(GSM iPhones)iOS and basebands versions. To get the remote unlock service visit http://www.onlinegsmunlock.com/apple-iphone-5/rs7wp9/ . There you have to give your Country and current network name along with your IMEI number to get the Remote Unlock Service.
