The weight of a person or an object varies from Earth to Moon because the gravitational field strength of the Moon is 16.7 percent (1.6249 m/s2) lesser than the Earth. For example if an object's weight is 100 Kilograms on Earth than it will weight only 16.7 Kilograms on the Moon.
