Can a technical college mess with my taxes if I drop out of college?
I did not finish the semester, now it says I owe like 1,400 and it is from 2 years ago. Is there anyway they can mess with my taxes? My boyfriend says yes, my mom says no.

If you got federal loans to pay for it or it is a state school, yes. If not, then no.

Federal loans that have defaulted can offset a refund.

The college can't, but if it's student loan debt then yes. The college will just ruin your credit.. Student loans are taken out of your refund.
