CVT and good don't belong in the same sentence. If you have a vehicle with a CVT transmission I highly recommend you have it serviced at the dealer when you hit 60,000 miles. That way if or when you do have problems you have records of it being serviced at the dealer and may get a customer extended warranty replacement tranny.

There really aren't enough 2016 or 2017 Honda CRV's on the road with high mileage for there to be an accurate answer to your question at this point. It is really past the warranty period when it is going to matter and 2016's are still under warranty. Quite honestly, if you're in doubt, a traditional automatic transmission will likely be more reliable than a vehicle with a CVT.
