Is there a new card fee when buying a CharlieCard or CharlieTicket?

In New York, there's a one time $1 fee for a new Metrocard. MARTA charges $2 for a new BreezeCard in Atlanta. I'm planning to visit Boston for the first time, and I'm thinking about buying a 7-day unlimited ride pass when I go. Does Boston's T charge a $1 fee or a $2 fee for a new CharlieCard?
