Was I being watched? If so, how should I go about approaching the situation?

Alright, so earlier today after I got home from school, I decided to take my dog out for a walk. After about ten minutes of walking, I was in another neighborhood where I noticed a navy blue minivan slowly driving next to me. I pretended to be on my phone because I wasn’t sure whether or not it was someone I knew and I wanted to avoid conversation. However, once I turned to the side and looked, I saw what appeared to be a grown man, maybe late 20’s; early 30’s, leaning over his passenger seat as if he was about to roll his windows down and talk to me. I got back on my phone and he sped up but after about 10 seconds he stopped in the same spot for about two minutes. I started walking slowly because I was scared to pass his vehicle, and my dog was taking her time sniffing and I was kind of rushing her. So, out of fear and nervousness, I continously looked at the vehicle and casually got on my phone as if I was texting someone. I kept staring at the vehicle waiting for it to continued driving, but it didn’t, at least not until another car showed up. When another car turned the corner and drove in the other lane, the minivan drove forward but thenhh made a U-turn, facing my direction. It drove forward at a relatively slow pace and passed me.

There are more innocent explanations than sinister ones for that. We don't even know anything about you except you are school aged - are you a teen girl, a pre-teen boy, or a football jock? That would make a lot of difference in your vulnerability. The man could have been looking for his dog that has been missing for a week and wondered how long you have had that one, or he could have been wanting to ask any number of other innocent questions. It is good to be cautious but we are not born to live in fear.

no you were not being watched.motive means and opportunity. I see no motive here. how would they know you were coming so the could set up to watch you? Being watched is a paranoid term sort of was I being scene would work as well.In the future if you think some one is following you turn around and go the other way, if they turn around, turn around again and go the other way. If they turn around again call 911 tell them where you are what your name and address is and that you thought they were tailing you, you turned around went back and they turned around then you turned around again and they turned again. If they approach you tell them you are on the phone to 911, and want to be left alone.
