Does anyone have a link to an external microphone for a camera that doesn't need to be plugged into the camera's audio jack to work?

A lot of Youtubers use these kind of mics. They attach to the shirt or they are taped onto their skin with tape. Pls help

The mics you see clipped to shirts are called "lapel" microphones. Any external mic Has to be connected to the camera's mic jack in order to work. There are wireless mics that can be used with cameras, but no camera has a built-in receiver for the purpose; the receiver for the specific wireless mic being used has to be plugged in. A better way to capture sound for videos is by using a separate digital recorder (such as the Tascam DR-05), and then sync the audio to the video when you edit.

You are describing a wireless lavaliere mic (sometimes called a "lapel" mic because they come with a clip for a lapel or collar rather than taped to skin. The lavaliere is connected using a thin wire to a battery powered transmitter. The transmitter sends the audio signal, wirelessly, to a base station. There are two types of base stations - portable (battery powered) and not... I use Sennheiser portable wireless lavalieres like https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1385595-REG/sennheiser_ew_112p_g4_a_ew_112p_g4_camera.html?sts=pi-ps There is no camera with a built-in wireless receiver. Sennheiser, Sony (professional), Audio Technica, Lectrovoice, Shure, RODE and a few others make good wireless gear. None are inexpensive and are good, solid, reputable, manufacturers. Azden, Polson, Saramonic, Samson and many others make wireless gear, too... and I cannot recommend any of them. If your camera has no audio input, the easiest way would be to capture the audio externally, then merge the audio with the video when editing. I use a Zoom H5... and yes, you would connect the base station to the field audio recorder. If taping to skin, DO NOT use any sort of "regular adhesive tape" (like scotch tape or duct tape). It can pull skin off and that hurts a LOT. Use "moleskin"...

Some cameras do not have mic inputs. Lapel or Lavalier mics or wireless radio receivers DO NEED to be plugged into the camera. How else does the camera get the signal?
