Ellington did not write Beethovenlike symphonies. His songs did not contain complex counterpoint. Nonetheless, he thought his songs were good.

it can be interpreted however you want but to me it signifies how people are quick to act once an idea looks good on paper. however it does not always turn out right in practice.
