How LED Tubes Lights save energy?

A 4 watt LED lamp, a 20 watt fluorescent lamp and a 40 watt incandescent lamp all have around the same light output. If you replace your incandescent bulbs with LEDs, you'll save 90% of the energy. If you replace your fluorescent lamps with LEDs, you'll save 80% of the energy. It's more complicated than that though. The extra watts are dissipated as heat, so changing to energy efficient lamp bulbs means your central heating will use more energy.

An incandescent bulb wastes energy in heat. LEDs are also more efficient in light production.
