How does one start to go about cleaning this mess?

Start by making a laundry pile. Have a trash bag and get all large trash out first. Get out all dishes. Then start at one corner. Throw out trash, add to laundry pile. Put each item away wher eis belongs. And then keep going. Open the blinds, crack a window and turn on some music.

Take all the clutter out of the room and put it in a pile outside the room. Then clean the room and make sure it’s organized, then one thing at a time address the pile of clutter.
