Will I need to buy new furniture ?

So I moved out of my apt. 2 years ago and my couch , dining room w/ chairs , and mattress have been in a storage unit. The storage unit is not climate controlled. My coworker said that I would probably need to purchase another mattress and couch because they have been in there too long. What do you guys think ?? I never even thought about that until he said something.

You just need to check, also you might need to have the couch cleaned like by someone like Stanley Steamers. Same for the mattress & box spring.

Go and check them to see what condition they are in

Could be worthwhile going to the unit to check it out. I guess it also depends on how the furniture or mattress was protected.

If the storage unit remained dry then it’s fine but If any moisture got onto the stored items then it will be molded. I’ve never had that issue personally.. However, there is also the concern of bedbugs.. If anyone stored items that had an infestation with it.. Bedbugs, roaches, etc.. Then your items may also be infested..and this includes wood and electronics. Roaches I don’t mind because they are easy to kill. Bedbugs however take thousands of dollars..

Would depend in part in the humidity level at your locale. In Florida, it would likely be moldy, mildew. Someplace else maybe not.
