Hypothetically what would happen if the USA runs out of fresh water?
Spend billions buying it from Canada.
We'd die of poisoned water.
50 percent of the population would be vanished or move to alaska
All the water on the planet including that in living things is basically the same water that has always been here. Small amounts get added from meteorites, and some may chemically react or split to hydrogen and oxygen and recombine, but most is recycled. Dinosaur urine could be in your blood. That stated, water gets redistributed. We would have to use desalinization and better water collection. Droughts can be localized, and it is just the cost to get it where it is needed. It would take a catastrophe where surface water contaminates and many people would die. But, Israel does get fresh water from sea water, and we can build similar equipment. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/israel-proves-the-desalination-era-is-here/
