If you don’t know the basics of adding vectors, watch the video in the link first. Then the answers should make sense. You may need pencil/paper to make the necessary sketches. They have used the same letters for the 3 given vectors at the top and also for the answer-choices. This is potentially confusing. So I’ll call the 3 vectors at the top A’, B’ and C’. _________ Q9. We want 2B’. Since 2B’ is a vector with the same direction as B’ but twice as long, Look through the choices - it must be C. _________ Q10. We want A’ - B’. This is the same as adding A’ and -B’. So imagine B’ reversed and add it to A' by the tip-to-tail method (see link). Answer B. _________ Q11. We want B’ + C’. Add by the tip-to-tail method (see link). Answer B. _________ Q12. We want A’ - B’ - C’. There are 3 different ways: a) Take the answer from Q10 and subtract C’. Or... b) Since A’ - B’ - C’ = A’ - (B’ + C’) subtract the answer from Q11 from A’. Or... c) Reverse B’ and C’ to get -B' and -C'.. Then add A’ + (-B’) + (-C’) using the tip-to-tail method. Answer A.

... need a clearer picture I have enlarged it several times but details like the arrow pointer tend to disppear When you get a good response, please consider giving a best answer. This is the only reward we get.
