I thought mexico was a state?

Why is everyone calling it a country

NEW MEXICO is a state. MEXICO is a country.

You are probably thinking New Mexico. Not Mexico.

Probably because it is a country. What the US should do, is invade Mexico, and make it a US state. That way, Mexicans crossing the border, will only be crossing the state line. It'd solve so many problems. AND, they'd all be paying taxes! If the US still wants to build a wall afterwards, it could build it at the bottom of Mexico, and save billions as it would be shorter. Yes it is a country. And you can describe it as a state. But is not one of the members of the United States.

Damned well SHOULD be!
