How can I tell when a library book was last Checked out? My library no longer stamps the last page, has gone digital?

Sometimes I wonder how long they have been sitting there for

You can't, not without access to the library's database. However, most libraries don't keep books that don't circulate. I volunteer at my local library and last summer we discarded all books that hadn't been checked out in more than two years.

You cant anymore and in my library if an item hasnt been checked out in 3 years they get rid of them and would have to get them on loan from another library. You might be able to ask the library and they might be able to tell you when it was last checked out.

It should have been explained to you when you received your barcoded library card. You can call your branchm, give your library card number. The staff will look it up on the computer and tell you what books are due, overdue, and will be due - and the fines due. This is how to find out using your computer or smartphone: Go to your library's home page. Look for a "button" that says "Your Account". Click it. On the next screen, type your library card number and your access code. On the next screen click "checkouts" On that screen will be the list of books you checked out and the due dates.
