Kirov Academy of Ballet DC intensive?

I auditioned for the Kirov SI recently, and just found out that I got waitlisted for their six week program. Though I m not thrilled that I wasn t excepted, I m still happy that it wasn t a rejection, haha. I just have one question, how do schools typically choose specific dancers to take off the waitlist? Also, the email I got said that "we expect there will be space for you to attend" and that "you will most likely to receive an invitation when the waitlist opens." Is that a good sign, or is that just normally how waitlisted letters are worded?

It sounds to me that you were high on the waitlist. It is highly likely others who were accepted might choose another SI. While this is an excellent program there are other programs that are somewhat more elite. The most elite schools like SAB rarely have to use their waitlist. Dancers that want only Vagonova will opt for the Kirov as their first choice but that isn’t every dancers cup of tea in regards to training. My best guess is you will have a very good shot of getting into this program based on that email. This is just my assessment and certainly there is no guarantee that you will get in. Nobody can give you a definitive answer on that.
