Sab audition details?

I m 17 and auditioning for the SAB SI this saturday, and Im really nervous about it. For anyone that either has auditioned for them before (in my age group) or just knows about their audition process, what should I expect for the class? specifically, is it entirely on pointe? most places I auditioned for last year (like sfb) only spent the last 15 minutes or so on pointe, but a lot of people say that a bunch of SI s do their audition entirely on pointe, so I m not totally sure what to expect. Other than that, what are the classes like? is there anything specific anyone could recommend me to keep in mind as I go into the process?

Unless things have recently changed, it will be en pointe. They look for body, facility and musicality. If you were born in that small group that has all the right gifts for ballet along with good solid training you should be fine. You don’t necessarily have to have prior Balanchine training as long as your training has been good. Edit: If you did SFB SI last year you should have a decent shot at SAB. If you didn’t make it into SFB SI program, it is not all that likely that you will be successful at the SAB audition. In any event, have fun and let your joy of dance shine through.
