What are the steps to audition for a dance company?

Although I'm only 13, I really wonder what the first steps to auditioning for a dance/talent agency are. I mainly do hip hop (I am self taught and I'm planning on doing classes when I get a little older cause I'm way to busy) I don't have a resume or a dance reel, but I know how to make them. As for experience, I've been in show choir for 2 years, our school musical, and the talent show. Any advice like dance classes to take, flexibility, first steps, and expierence?

Right now you are all over the place. which is fine for a kid. If you are too busy with other things to take dance at age 13, you may not get to the point where you will be a dancer. You will need to make some choices and narrow your focus if you want to get into a dance company. Here are some things you could/should do: 1. Start taking dance from the best teacher/studio your family can afford. You need a professional dancer to critique your current ability and train you. If you do hip-hop, that's fine. You might also want to get some background in jazz, modern, and even ballet. 2. Many dance studios have a "company" or "competition" level team. Work your way onto that team if possible. 3. Go to auditions for dance companies.
