What does it take to audition for a agency like MSA?

Well I want to audition for that agency in the future. I am currently 13 with no dance experience and would like to take dance classes. Unfortunately, I don’t know where and how to start. I would like to do the hip hop auditions, but I’m not sure if I’m required to take other dance classes as well. Being as I’m a late starter in pretty much everything, I don’t know if I have much of a chance. I’ve asked previous questions about this here and everyone seemed to discourage me. Do I have a chance? If I do, what are the steps that I have to do before even thinking of auditioning for an agency like MSA?

It is hard for anyone to become a professional dancer. Even those that start younger. It is more about the gifts you were born with along with getting good training. You posted in another question about a ballet school in Minnesota. This looks like a good place to start. Give them a call and see what they offer in teen beginner ballet classes. Ballet is hard training and requires decipline. That is a major requirement for studying dance on a serious level. Whether or not you have the right body ( bone and muscle structure,) facility and musicality for a dance career is something you will have to discover. Keep in mind the right body for ballet is not the same as the right body for commercial dance but there are many similarities. But ballet is essential training for a commercial dance career. Good luck!
