Bates boots dig into side of ankle?

Brand new Bates boot digs into side of left ankle make the shoe useless to wear. Any solutions?

Thicker socks. Or, see if shoes can be returned.

You might want to think of putting some kind of pad on the are of the boot that is giving you trouble. If they are LEATHER (not "fake leather"), you could also overfill them (and therefore stretch them) with something like rock, but this will take a month or so to do. Also,, you could see if they are in a shape that is returnable (most shoes, one worn not on carpet, get wear marks on the soles.)
