I m using Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid in Porcelain Ivory 10 but it makes my skin look dry, grainy and makes my pores look huge! Plez help!?

My skin is not really dry nor is it ever oily. I don't feel the need for moisturizers because I don't have these issues but when I put this on, it makes my face look so fake and its very obvious I'm wearing makeup, which defeats the purpose lol. Also, I am not someone who can necessarily afford really expensive makeup, which is why I bought this, lol so please don't recommend really high end products. Where are the beauty gurus to help a poor girl out? Thank you!

Maybe you could try a foundation which has less coverage. It may sit on your skin nicer, and it may look smoother/flawless close-up. Try using a hydrating primer under your foundation or even a pore minimizing one it may make the application easier to deal with. Tarte have pretty good foundations, they aren't too heavy but then aren't too light in coverage either, the application is nice and their products won't clog your pores or exaggerate them. I'd recommend you to use their tarte shape-tape range or their more natural range like the clay foundation or the water-based foundation. Test different application tricks with sponges and brushes, because you may find that the issue isn't the foundation itself, but it could be the way you apply it to your skin. Hopefully, my answer was useful. :)

Posted this on one of Maybelline's socail media pages and this is the response: "It's possible that particular product is not right for your skin. Not every foundation is good for every skin. I sympathize with the cost factor -but foundations are hard to buy and you often have to try several different ones before you find one that works for your skin and skin type. Maybelline products tend to be better for oily skin and anything labeled "satin" or Matte tends to look dry on skin that's not oily. This one is also full coverage so it goes on looking heavy. The experts at Maybelline recommend a light moisturizer before applying your foundation, sometimes that's all that's needed to make it look satin rather than dry. . Otherwise look for something that's for normal to dry skin OR look for something that's not full coverage. instead look for a light or medium coverage. Something like Age Rewind is good for all ages who don't need the mattifying properties of a product for oily skin and instead need lighter coverage and a moister feel and finish. our Fit Me Dewy and Smooth for normal to dry skin has buildable coverage (the more you apply the heavier it loos, the less you apply the lighter it looks) and looks fresh and natural." I myself prefer as natural a look as possible and find that anything for oily skin looks terrible. I've switched to BB creams with SPF for the times when I want to wear a foundation -many times I skip it and wear just a bit of powder and blush. ELF makes a very inexpensive BB cream that offers light sheer coverage with a good sunscreen. It's under 10$ so yay for my wallet. If you look up best drugstore foundations through google you'll find plenty of options from lesser known brands such a ELF, Wet'n'wild and more. All are under 10 to 15 dollars with a couple around 5$ As suggested, a light moisturizer before foundation makes all foundations go on smoother and lighter looking.
