I'm trying to find a primary physician through my health insurance. I live and work locally. Do I choose HMO or PPO?

I am a healthy 35 year old that works full-time.

You chose with whatever your insurance is. If it's an HMO then that's what you have. If it's a PPO then that's what you have.

Are you asking HOW to pick a doctor through a plan you already have? OR, are you asking whether you should choose an HMO or PPO? If it's the first, you choose the network associated with your plan. If it's the second, we buy insurance based on cost and benefits and not whether it's called something (like PPO, POS, HMO, EPO, etc....).

It is your choice. It is what you prefer. They work differently. Read each plan and YOU decide. Nobody can decide for you because some people prefer HMOs and others prefer PPOs.

PPO's are usually better, slightly more expensive, but worth it as far as co-pays and doctor network size.
