My computer wont open files like it did a year ago..?

Click the Start Menu Scroll down to 'Windows System' and open Go to Control Panel Click on Programs Click on Default Programs Click on Set your default programs Scroll near the bottom where it says 'Choose default apps by file type' Find your file type and associate it with the program you had to begin with. If that doesn't work Right click your file, Select Properties in the general tab it will say the type of file and it will say what it currently opens with. Select the option: 'Change..." Locate where your application is located usually in the C:\Program Files folder. Then select it and click ok, then select apply in the properties window.

"The Thing" You meant your Computer? Mac or PC? Open with is very common and unless you put the type of file it is no one can help you. Look for *yourfile.something* Something being .jpg or .psd or .tx or .mp3 or .mp4 or something else.

What kind of file are you trying to open? Each file type has to have an application that can open it
