Down load microsoft security essentials?

Microsoft Security Essentials is preinstalled on Windows 8 and later, but it's renamed "Windows Defender".  That's stupidly confusing on Microsoft's part, as the original Windows Defender protects only from non-virus malware (spyware, adware, dialers, worms, etc.)

If you're using Windows 10, then it's already installed on your system, it's called Windows Defender. Windows Security Essentials and Defender are exactly the same thing, except SE is the version that needs to be downloaded and installed on Windows 7 and earlier computers. Windows 8 and later computers have Defender preinstalled.

I use it on Windows 7 and don't bother with any other alternatives.Never had any problems
