Is there a way to get free music on an iPod?

My dad is wanting an ipod, and for me to put music on it. My only issue is that I haven’t found a way to download free music on it (not through iTunes where you have to pay for each song) so I’m wondering if this is possible? Is there anything that’s close to YouTube converter? Back in my day (lmfao) I would burn cds and just use YouTube converter to get the songs onto the cd for free. Is this possible with an iPod? I know YouTube and Pandora is accessible but that’s not what he’s looking for he’s wanting me to download specific songs. I also am aware there are apps I could use but in my experience the songs eventually stop working or there’s a bunch of remix’s/covers of the song. Someone please help my technologically challagened self out lmao thanks in advance

Most of the music downloader apps have been removed by Apple because it is illegal to download copyrighted music for free in most countries. So your choices are: Subscribe to a music streaming service like Pandora, Apple Music, Spotify, etc Buy music on iTunes Provide your own music files and then transfer them to your phone via iTunes (the computer program, not the app on the iPod) iTunes on the PC lets you rip your audio CDs so that is another option you can try.

Borrow CDs from people and load them using a computer.
