Is it safe to use a DVD player with the flap missing?
I'm sure this sounds like a stupid question but The flap that opens when you open the disc tray broke off my DVD player. Is it safe to use? In terms of laser radiation and such

It is completely safe to use. The front of the drawer is mostly decorative. Other than that, it does help a little in keeping dust and crud out of the machine.

LOL! The laser is focused on the disk. If you could pry it out and hold it 1/2" from your eye and stare into it, it could burn a hole in your retina. As it is, it's not dangerous.

Not safe. The reflections from the laser on the disc will make you sterile and stupid.
