Andrew Jackson forced native Americans (many of whom had adopted the white culture and were business owners and farmers) to migrate to reservations in Oklahoma. He then sold or gave hundreds of thousands of acres of their land to his friends and political allies. Davy Crockett was so appalled that he famousl said “you may all go to hell, I will go to Texas.”
