Not for just drinking, no. If I am going to have a glass with a big thick steak or a roast beef dinner, I grab the cheapest bottle of 'Cabernet Sauvignon' I can find That is the name of the type of grapes it is made from not a company or region. Or a Rioja, which is the name of a region in Spain that makes wine with a strong rough flavour. For something lighter buy a bottle of Pinot Noir, which is another type of wine grape grown all over the world.

Do you have a Wegman's or a Total Wine near where you live? If so, you can go to both of those places and tell them that you are looking for wine, they will ask you various questions and bring you a bunch of samples to try.

I Call It Like I See It

It's all subjective. I like cabernet sauvignon with or without food because it's hearty and robust. Some people don't like cabernet sauvignon or any red wines and that's perfectly okay.
