Are gestation diabetes and regular diabetes the same?

I’m pregnant and I’m thinking I have the other kind of diabetes besides gestational because I got checked and I don’t have gestational diabetes but could I have the other kind or would they be the same?

If you were checked for gestational diabetes and were found not to have it, you don't have any kind of diabetes. It's called gestational diabetes because it shows up only during pregnancy. However, the symptoms are the same, and medical tests would show whether you had ANY kind of diabetes.

ALL types of diabetes causes the same main issue - high blood sugar. If you tested negative for gestational diabetes, then you are also negative for all other types of diabetes because your blood sugars were normal. Gestational diabetes only happens during pregnancy and sugar levels usually return to normal after pregnancy.
