What does having better than 20/20 vision mean?

I was told this at the opticians, but I didn't know what it meant and I wear glasses!

People pretty regularly see better than 20/20. 20/20 vision means that you see at 20 feet what you are expected to see at 20 feet. Many people see 20/15 which means they see at 20 feet what they would be expected to see at 15 feet. A few people see 20/10. You mentioned that you wear glasses. Since I was not there, I don't know exactly what was said. He might have said the you see better than 20/20 with your glasses. You may see great at distance without your glasses and just need them to see better up close or to avoid eye strain.

20/20 means you can see something that's clearly that's 20 feet away when you're actually 20 feet away from it. Better than 20/20 means you can see the same thing as someone who is 20 feet away from it, but you can still see it when you're further away from it. You might still need glasses if you can't focus on things closer to you (eg. you are far sighted.)

Visual acuity (VA) commonly refers to the clarity of vision. Visual acuity is dependent on optical and neural factors, i.e., (i) the sharpness of the retinal focus within the eye, (ii) the health and functioning of the retina, and (iii) the sensitivity of the interpretative faculty of the brain 20/20 vision means normal visual acuity. There is no better vision than 20/20 vision. If there is a lit bit of differentiation in your vision, then you have eyesight disease. I hope you got your answer.
