Volunteer to clean up the garden. Tell'em you're gathering sticks, leaves, and stuff for your compost bin. You can do the same for junk in the yard (recycling).

A huge part of what makes people buy a house is the neighbourhood. "The majority of gardens are overgrown and they are quite rowdy and sit out on the street playing their music when the weather is nice." So people of the same sort will be happy to buy the house.

Really nothing you can do. When I had my home for sale, the Doofus in the house next door was running an auto junkyard. Complained to the city, who did absolutely nothing.

If its more than one neighbor, then there isn't anything you can do. It will hurt your showing your home but that's what your street is. Do the best you can with your own home.

Contact the local authority. They can act if there is a genuine public nuisance.
