Why doesn't the police force like former MP's joining the force?

Members of Parliament are politicians. They don't know much about law ENFORCEMENT. You are asking about the UK, aren't you? If you were asking about the US, I would have to point out there are HUNDREDS of individual police forces and they have different preferences.
