My liver enzymes are high. Why?

Elevated liver enzymes have multiple causes, some serious. They include all forms of hepatitis, certain medications, obesity, alcohol abuse, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Your doctor will re-test to see if the elevation was temporary. It if continues, they'll want you to get the hepatitis immunization series and to lose weight if you need to.
