How to graphically determine freezing point?

I have data from a lab for the cooling curve of a substance. The problem is, the "flat" portion of the graph (the freezing) is not completely flat and still decreases in temperature within that time interval. Should I look at the beginning of the flat portion or take the average of all the data points within that portion to get the freezing point of the substance? Thanks!
