What if the earth spinning in reverse?

What if it already is? If the first world-colonizing cultures had developed on the other side of the equator, what we think of as the South Pole would probably be called the North Pole, and vice-versa; and the Sun would rise in the West and set in the East. It's all just random chance.

The sun would rise in the west and set in the east.

If the Earth starting spinning in reverse and we ignore the effects of the slowdown of rotation that would be required (and the subsequent destruction of everything on the crust of the planet) then the sun would rise in what we now call the west and would set in what we now call the east.

The Gulf Stream would be reversed and Northern Europe would be as cold as Canada. And the East coast of Canada and Western Greenland would be nice and warm. There would be coastal deserts in Eastern Asia. Columbus might never have made it across the Atlantic sailing at the latitude that he did.

The sun would rise in San Fransisco and in Rotterdam too.

nothing except the sun would rise in the west and set in the east

It does spin reverse to the motion of the sun... The sun rises in the east, while the earth spins from west to east

probably the biggest difference would be changes to climate by location because of changes to air and water current flow directions. They would go in the opposite way, roughly.

Good Bye

WE would all die.

Then nothing. Adolescents will still be asking pointless questions on Yahoo!Answers. . .
